A nationally known horse breeding facility established in the 1930s just north of downtown Franklin, Harlinsdale Farm was purchased by the city of Franklin in 2004, placed under a permanent conservation easement in 2007, and opened to the public shortly thereafter. Harlinsdale Farm has been called the most significant historic farm associated with the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry. The historic main barn and has become the iconic symbol of the Franklin community. KV+D worked with the Friends of Franklin Parks to create the master plan layout of the new multi-purpose equestrian arena which includes viewings platforms, and event lawn space, additional paddock areas, and additional parking.

In 2015, the City of Franklin and Friends of Franklin Parks partnered with Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, for a two-day music and cultural experience held at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm every fall.
